This year we are celebrating the career and retirement of Jim Suiter.
For the past 32 years he has defined professionalism in our industry with his attention to detail, punctuality and experience. His career in pest control started after he enlisted in the Navy and was tasked with keeping roaches, rats and all other types of pests out of the food supplies and off the ships.
After his service in the Navy, he worked for another pest control company and then found his way to Reliable Exterminators in 1992. Jim actively worked to maintain and expand his knowledge of insects and pest control best practices with regular attendance to meetings such as the Purdue Pest Management Conference and other professional development programs.
As a Lafayette resident for decades, Jim has been active in the community by hosting a celebrated annual block party around Halloween. With a garage full of spooky decorations, masks, statues and inflatables, Jim would take several days to decorate his entire yard and house for

the “Halloweenie Roast”, where members of his neighborhood, family and other employees of Reliable would attend to roast hot dogs, enjoy warm beverages and sit around outside by the fire in costumes amidst giant spiders and witches.
Jim’s career has been a constant embodiment of the traits we want to develop among all Reliable employees. Making an impression on new technicians for over 3 decades, he has led by example by maintaining detailed paperwork and record keeping, providing insightful and precise pest control methods and by creating personal relationships with his customers to ensure their satisfaction with the service he delivers.
